JUSTIN JACOB LOUIS
Justin Jacob Louis is an enrolled member of the Samson Cree Nation. Raised on Treaty 6 territory in Alberta, Canada. He founded the Indigenous streetwear label SECTION 35 in 2016—named for the constitutional section recognizing Indigenous rights—and more recently launched his eponymous luxury line, blending Cree culture, language, and storytelling with contemporary fashion to amplify Indigenous identity and sovereignty.
Justin Jacob Louis creates collections that draw from lived experience, visual sovereignty, and Indigenous futurism. His designs incorporate archival imagery, subtle references to Cree cosmology, and carefully chosen color palettes that evoke land, memory, and resistance. He sees clothing as a vehicle for storytelling—each garment holding space for cultural pride, historical reckoning, and forward momentum. His recent work emphasizes gender-neutral silhouettes and sustainable materials, inviting wearers to engage with fashion not just as style, but as ceremony. Through every collection, Louis reframes what luxury means, rooting it in community, continuity, and the quiet power of Indigenous expression.
