Coco de Mer Fragrance Co. brings one of the world's rarest botanical essences to the United States, born from a family legacy rooted in the Seychelles Islands. With fewer than 50,000 bottles produced globally each year, every fragrance is as rare as the islands that inspired it.
The Coco de Mer palm, found nowhere on earth but the Seychelles, has been the stuff of legend for millennia. Its enormous, distinctive seed, the largest in the plant kingdom, was once thought by sailors to be the fruit of an underwater paradise. Its husk carries a heady, intoxicating aroma that remained a closely guarded secret of the islands until Sharon Bonne and her inventive parents developed the patented extraction process that finally unlocked it. Working with the only Seychelles artisan who carries the passed-down skill to open the Coco de Mer while preserving its shell and fruit intact, the family created five distinct fragrances, each named in Seychellois Creole and crafted primarily from natural, plant-derived ingredients native to the islands.
